Quality and innovation: Mitutoyo at AMB trade fair

The biennial international exhibition for metal working AMB in Stuttgart from 13th to 17th September dealt with everything important in the branch. Of course, the Japanese length measurement technology specialist MITUTOYO also took part. They have always been well-known for highly accurate and innovative measurement devices and software as well as customised solutions. Consequently, their stand had amongst the best that the market has to offer.

For example, the new stationary surface finish measuring instrument Surftest SV-3200 with swivelling detectors and a wealth of functions. Together with the powerful software FORMTRACEPAK included in the standard equipment, visitors could watch the device measuring a crankshaft. Due to high demand, MITUTOYO exhibited an independent and, moreover, space-saving custom coordinate measuring solution with high speed and excellent accuracy. The core of this measuring solution in a cabin is the versatile CNC coordinate measuring instrument MACH Ko-ga-me.

A new piece of software which was amongst the three nominated candidates for an award and received a commendation: the MITUTOYO MiCAT Planner, which can create part programs for coordinate measuring instruments within minutes - rather than in hours or days as had previously been the case.

For the final of the German Championship of WorldSkills Germany in CNC turning and CNC milling the premium manufacturer measured the surface roughness of all created workpieces with a surface roughness measuring instrument of the type Surftest SJ-410. On top of that, the dimensional accuracy was tested with a coordinate measuring machine of the type CRYSTA-Apex S7106 in MITUTOYO M3 Solution Center Leonberg.

Visitors also surrounded the manual measuring tools as well as the optical and vision measuring instruments, above all the new QuickVision Active, which even comes with a touch probe as an option.

All in all, MITUTOYO has drawn a positive assessment from the exhibition, not least because of the highly specialist booth visitors. And new, ground-breaking measurement devices and software solutions will be on display again at AMB 2018.
